His son George was his foreman for some time.
James Gilbert in his notes said he was definitely of French descent or perhaps a past Frenchman.
James Gilbert also reported that Arthur Mortimer Prosper saw his great grandson Neville Gilbert and blessed him on his death bed.
Arthur married Georgiana Rachel HARDING, daughter of James HARDING and Isabella NURPUT, on 19 Jun 1883 in Wesley chapel, Calcutta. (Georgiana Rachel HARDING was born on 22 Nov 1854, died on 9 Nov 1933 in Asansol, India and was buried on 10 Nov 1933 in Asansol, India.)
